Employer Services
The CDP is your connection to:
Trained, reliable, job ready workers - Through the Career Development Program,
job seekers are prepared to enter the work world as trained, skilled, professionals.
Many of these workers have had a long history of productivity in previous
jobs and through this program have been trained to re-enter the job market.
The CDP prides itself in the quality of workers referred.
Opportunities for internships - The CDP can also offer employers the opportunity
to train highly motivated interns. These interns will have completed our
vocational assessment and will be committed to learning the job. This option
allows employers to see that a blind and visually impaired client can be
a great addition to their organization.
Tax Incentives for Employers - Employers can earn substantial tax credits
by hiring a blind or visually impaired worker. The CDP will assist in completing
paperwork and making sure that the process is done expediently and correctly.

Reasonable accommodation recommendations
- A Rehabilitation Technology Specialist will come to your site to evaluate the
need for accommodations based on specific job duties. The CDP staff can
also ensure that you are connected to the correct resources to have the
accommodations acquired and installed.
Introduction to adaptive technology for Human Resource professionals and
employers - Society for the Blind staff can provide an in-service for your
Human Resources personnel and technical staff so that they are familiar
with the adaptive technology being used. This helps to ensure that you are
always up to date on upgrades to the technology and that your staff can
troubleshoot any problems that arise.
Rehabilitation Technology integration - CDP staff will coordinate integration of
new technology with your existing systems, with as little disruption to
your workplace as possible.
