Society for the Blind serves thousands

surrounding counties. We are the only
center in this region that trains blind
and low vision people on Braille, life
skills, computers and job skills.

October 6, 2007: Society for the Blind
Launches Capital Campaign
A host of community, business and
philanthropic leaders gathered at the site
of the future home of
Society for the
Blind in downtown Sacramento to launch a
capital campaign to raise money to renovate
an existing building which will become the
new headquarters for the Society for the
Blind.
With a target of $5 million, it was
announced that $2.7 million has already been
raised which include significant donations
by Thomas Raley Foundation and Joyce Raley
Teel ($1 million) and the Rumsey Community
Fund ($300,000).
