2005 Blind Olympics

For Northern California Youth who are Blind or have Low Vision

It's that time! Send in your registration forms for the 2005 Northern California Blind Olympics by September 26, 2005.

 

Special note to all past participants: This year will be better than ever, with more demonstrations and fun. We hope to see you again!

 

Date: Saturday, October 8, 2005

Time: 7:45am-8:30am Registration

8:30am-9:15am Opening Ceremony

9:15am-12:15pm Track and Field Competition

12:15pm-1:30pm Lunch and Open Demonstration Area

Place: California State University, Sacramento Practice Track next to Hornet Stadium. *Please note that this location has been changed.

 
Come prepared to...

*Compete in the 50 yard dash, 100 yard dash, discus throw, shot put, javelin throw, and long jump.

*Try competitive blind sports such as tandem bicycles, goal ball, judo, and beep baseball.

*Challenge yourself with the obstacle course for all ages, or the mini obstacle course for younger Olympians.

*Learn more about community resources.

*Build new friendships and reach new personal triumphs.

 

 

Important note: All participants are encouraged to learn about the Olympic events and to train with the new equipment on the following practice dates: September 10, September 17, and October 1 from 9am to 11am. (There is no practice session on September 24th.) Practice sessions will be held at the CSU Sacramento Practice Track.
