When someone is experiencing vision loss, they are not the only person going through the emotional and mental struggle of the process. Society for the Blind acknowledges this and wants to help. We are offering a support group for the support networks of our clients, and other visually impaired members of the greater Sacramento area.
This support group will provide an opportunity for friends and family of those who are visually impaired to have many questions answered. Come talk to professionals in the Blindness Rehabilitation field. Ask questions about Daily Living, Orientation and Mobility, Accessible Technology, Braille, and feel free to voice any other concerns. This is an opportunity to discuss techniques for parenting, cooking, administering medications, traveling, and using various types of computers and other technology.
Whether it’s a medical condition or a traumatic accident, vision loss is a journey. The individuals going through the vision loss are not alone and we want to help those friends and family members, as well as the person experiencing the vision loss. Come to Society for the Blind’s Biannual Family Support Group and get your questions answered.
Doors open at 8:30 for registration.
Discussion will begin at 9:00.
Light refreshments will be provided in the morning.
Please RSVP with Brandie Kubel to reserve your seat(s). Contact Brandie by phone at (916) 889-7521, or email [email protected]
