Join CareersPLUS as we learn about the many faces and layers of advocacy. We will meet at Society for the Blind at 10 AM and return by 2:30 PM.  This will be an offsite activity.

From school to the workplace, and in everyday social settings, we face challenges and barriers big and small. Attitudes and behaviors of others often shape how we fail or succeed. Advocacy is a term and tool used to achieve a positive outcome for a cause or purpose. For some it is easy and for others it can be a challenge.

We will meet with guest speakers and share our examples of advocacy and self-advocacy in our daily lives.

All participants are requested to bring $10 for lunch.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and a white cane and/or any other low vision aides to comfortably and confidently navigate indoors and outdoors.

Please RSVP for this event by emailing Richard Rueda at [email protected] or by phone at 916.889.7513. There is no cost to attend the workshop, however participants are asked to bring $10 for their lunch-time meal and any refreshments they may want from Starbucks.
