Whether it is exploring your skills, perfecting GPS navigation, independently traveling with a guide dog or, capitalizing on cane awareness – we’ve got the event for you!
Join Guide Dogs for the Blind and Society for the Blind for a fun and informative seminar on travel tips, tricks and tools to maximize independence. A panel of blind and low vision peers will discuss successes and challenges on traveling their neighborhood, state and worldwide. Presenters from Guide Dogs for the Blind will be on hand to show us how guide dogs do the important work of guiding and expert cane travelers will demonstrate how to navigate through the world.
Additional presentations from local transit providers will be on site as well as a presentation on phone and tablet apps that aid with indoor and outdoor navigation. Lunch will be provided. Travel door prizes will also be raffled off to those in attendance.
