CareersPLUS Youth Seminar

Are you interested in learning new transit routes, investigating ways to navigate in large crowds and in the great outdoors? This is the perfect seminar for you.  Join your peers, rain or shine, as we meet to discuss how young adults and professionals living with blindness and low vision successfully engage and navigate their environment to reach their destination.

During this workshop, the expert staff at Society will lead you through travel planning and guide you through a travel route of the Midtown area. You will learn how to plan a new route to school, independently get to a coffee shop, and know when to ask for assistance. This workshop will focus on problem solving, identifying strategies for increased self-awareness and ultimately building self-confidence through use of available resources.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a white cane and/or any other low vision aides to comfortably and confidently navigate indoors and outdoors.

A light lunch will be available to registered attendees.
