Date(s) - December 17, 2019
5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Tis the season for a festive evening stroll, hot cocoa, cider and cheer. Join our December Family Fun gathering as we meet up and head to the Fabulous 40s to revel in the sights and sounds of the season. Annually, the neighborhood of the Fab 40s goes all out with holiday-themed animals, elves, gingerbread houses and even palm trees.

We will meet in the lobby of Society for the Blind at 5 PM and head to the light rail to join the festivities. Volunteers and the technology of Aira will be available to capture and narrate the holiday themes during our stroll.

An added bonus to our December 17 festivities is that the good folks at Aira will be opening up their platform for us in East Sacramento. What that means for you is that if you don’t already have Aira downloaded to your iPhone or Android, you can download it for free. Most calls give you the first 5 minutes free. Aira’s contribution to the blind community in East Sacramento on the evening of December 17 from 5 to 8:30 PM is free unrestricted access to Aira. Once Aira is on your phone and a call is placed, you can use your phone’s camera in conjunction with the live agent to have your surroundings described to you. It’s that simple. Whether you join our festive hot cocoa drinking, street walking group on the 17th, or go at it solo, know your trek through East Sacramento that evening is on Aira.

There is no cost to participate, however please bring money for a round trip bus (light rail) fare.
