Come and practice your orientation and mobility skills together with us. Come and learn how to navigate around Old Sacramento, locate shops and restaurants, navigate various terrains, cobble stone textures, wooden surfaces, and use of your long white straight cane to stay safe with drop offs, ramps, and stairs. Meta AI Glasses and the iPhone compass for navigation will be demonstrated.
Enjoy lunch together as well. Please bring your long white straight cane as this is an orientation and mobility lesson. This lesson is for those who are willing to stretch themselves in their cane travel and who are open to learning the techniques that will be taught. Must have stamina to be able to walk 5 blocks. Staff reserve the right to determine if this lesson is appropriate for your current level of travel abilities.
Community Integration lesson is open to 10 clients. All clients’ names will be placed on a list, and will be notified once the names have been chosen.
