Hundreds attend Society’s Resource and Technology Fair

On November 3, 200+ people with vision loss, together with their family members, explored the latest in adaptive technology and our region’s top resources at the 2018 Resource and Technology Fair. Hosted by Society for the Blind, North State Assistive Technology and the California Braille and Talking Book Library, more than 20 vendors from technology companies to Guide Dogs for the Blind participated. The event was an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and learn about everything from technology and recreation to health care and careers. Some of the resources onsite included: the CA Department of Rehabilitation, HumanWare, Access Ingenuity, California Foundation for Independent Living, Sacramento City College, Sacramento Covered, CalABLE and the Crocker Art Museum’s sensory exhibit. The event was underwritten by a grant from the Disability Communication Fund.
