Help people with vision loss get back to work!

Support Society for the Blind on Big Day of Giving

Unemployment skyrocketed during the pandemic – but unemployment for people with low vision or blindness has been a whopping 70% for decades.

We’re changing that.

At Society for the Blind, we always say that people with vision loss can still do almost anything they want – they just have to adapt to do it another way. The same is true in the workplace.

Through our work, we’ve empowered more than 60 people with vision loss to keep or find jobs over the last two years.

We have been working to build our employment-readiness program for youth and working-age adults. When the pandemic hit, and our services went remote, we were able to expand our services and partnerships. We are now partnering with the Blind Institute of Technology in Colorado, offering employment services through the State of Nevada and are a certified provider with the Department of Rehabilitation.

As we get ready to once again open our doors for in-person services, we need your help to ensure we have all of the tools we need so people with vision loss can get back to work.

Your gift to Society for the Blind on Big Day of Giving will help us get our classrooms back up and running with the latest technology and renovations so the students in our community can develop the skills they need to keep their jobs or find new ones.

Help us reach our $17,000 Big Day of Giving goal!
