An Important Message from Society for the Blind

Dear Friends of Society for the Blind,

By now you have likely heard that we decided to close Society for the Blind and not provide in-person services in order to do our part to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.

Times like this call us to pull together and support one another. To this end, I am pleased to let you know that as of today, March 17th, Society for the Blind will be providing all of our Core blindness skills classes remotely to our students. Using all of the technologies available to us, we will make sure that our students learning to live with low vision and blindness can continue to access training and practice their skills.

Our Senior IMPACT Project is also arranging to provide remote training for seniors scheduled to have in-person training. In addition, staff members are making calls to all of our seniors to make sure they are okay, have food and medicines, and to provide some opportunity for conversation given that many are isolated.

These are just some of the steps we are taking to keep services up and running.

We appreciate your support now more than ever, and we will keep you informed of any new developments or updates. In the meantime, know that all of us at Society for the Blind wish you good health.
