May You Be Merry, Bright and Filled with Hope

As we wrap up our 65th anniversary year stronger than ever, we are grateful to you for being such an important part of our community. We look forward to sharing the hope and joy of a new year and decade.

The halls at Society for the Blind are getting decked out in holiday style and the students and staff are busy decorating two Christmas trees generously donated by Green Acres Nursery. Our new Senior IMPACT Project teaching kitchen is also getting filled up with near-daily deliveries of supplies from our Amazon Charity Wish List.

We are so grateful for our donors and friends. Because of your support, we were able to serve a record number of people this past year. Our Senior IMPACT Project served 627 seniors participating for the first time. In our Core program, 29 people with vision loss found new jobs or kept their current jobs – another five started college. More than 250 children with vision loss participated in our weekend workshops, summer program and After-School Academy.

To close out the year, the Sacramento Bee selected Society for the Blind for its 2019 Book of Dreams. Our hearts are full of gratitude and joy. The generosity of the Sacramento region is making a difference in the lives of people learning to live with vision loss. Your end of year support is important as we look ahead to a busy new year. You are giving the greatest gift of all: hope.

From all of us at Society for the Blind, have a wonderful holiday season and New Year!
