We dedicate this issue of our e-newsletter in loving memory of Doris Flint, who passed away on August 22, 2019.

Doris was a leader, a devoted mother and wife, and a passionate community volunteer. She served as national president for the Delta Gamma (DGs) fraternity, which is committed to doing philanthropic work for people living with low vision and blindness.

She brought her visionary leadership, incredible humor, and fundraising expertise to Society for the Blind for more than two decades. Doris was instrumental in raising the funds to help us secure our current center in midtown.  No board meeting could be too serious, and Doris made sure of that with her wit and trademark laugh.

We were truly blessed that Doris served on our board of directors. She was kind and never passed up an opportunity to drop a note acknowledging an important event or accomplishment at Society for the Blind.

Doris embodied the “Do Good” motto of the Delta Gammas. In everything she did for her community she gave her all. All the good she did for Society for the Blind will endure, as will our memories of our beloved Doris Flint.
