We are Opening our Doors Again!

After two long years, Society for the Blind is excited to once again be opening our center to in-person training. On March 21, our staff will return on a hybrid schedule, allowing for continued remote work. Society will be open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

As we gradually return to onsite classes, we also will continue to offer our remote classes and support groups, ensuring access to our services is available to anyone in need of blindness skills training.

Society for the Blind is grateful to be able to offer expanded services for our clients. The challenges of the past few years have pushed us to be more creative and to adapt our ways of teaching. This has ultimately led to more people with vision loss in northern California getting the help they need.

Now it’s time to restock our teaching kitchens and make final preparations in our classrooms and conference rooms. If you are interested in making a financial donation to help cover these costs, please contact Lina Lloyd at 916-889-7517 or donate online.

Later this spring, we also will look forward to welcoming back our onsite volunteers who provide assistance as personal readers and help with projects at our building. As the year progresses, additional volunteer opportunities may be available for events and/or outreach. Please visit our volunteer webpage to learn more about current opportunities and to stay updated about ways to volunteer in the coming months.

It is wonderful to be opening our doors once again, and we are grateful for your support that enables us to give people living with vision loss and blindness the skills and tools they need to discover, develop and achieve their full potential.
